DID MORGAN ROGERS MAKE A MISTAKE JOINING CHELSEA?
🔥 🔵
Marc Cucurella joined Chelsea from Brighton in 2022 with high expectations. But during his time at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea failed to compete seriously for the Premier League title.
Chelsea's Champions League qualification also became inconsistent, with the club qualifying only once during that period.
Yes, Cucurella won trophies with Chelsea, including the Europa Conference League and the Club World Cup. But for a player with ambitions of competing for the biggest prizes, questions about the club's direction remained.
Then came 2026.
Cucurella reportedly became frustrated with the lack of progress and eventually requested a transfer before moving to Real Madrid.
In his first media interview, his message was clear: he wanted to compete for and win the league title.
Then there is Enzo Fernández.
After spending three seasons at Chelsea, Enzo also moved on, joining Manchester City.
His ambition? To play for a club capable of competing for the Premier League and Champions League.
These are the experiences of two important Chelsea players.
Two players who have experienced the club's struggles from inside.
Chelsea have gone through a period of enormous instability, with managerial changes and constant rebuilding raising serious questions about the club's long-term direction.
And while Cucurella and Enzo moved on to clubs with ambitions of winning the biggest trophies, another player was moving in the opposite direction.
Morgan Rogers joined Chelsea.
Rogers had been doing brilliantly at Aston Villa, and Chelsea eventually secured his services after agreeing to a huge transfer fee.
To be fair, Rogers has started brightly at Stamford Bridge. He has already shown flashes of quality and has found the back of the net in his early appearances.
But I have one big question:
🤔 DID MORGAN ROGERS CHOOSE THE WRONG CLUB?
Personally, I think he did.
Imagine Rogers at Arsenal.
A player of his quality could have had an opportunity to play Champions League football and compete regularly for major honours.
Instead, he has joined a Chelsea side that is still trying to find stability and establish itself among England's elite.
And here's the painful part:
Morgan Rogers could have been playing Champions League football this week.
Instead, he may have to watch the biggest European competition from home.
Of course, football can change quickly. Chelsea could surprise everyone. Rogers could become a superstar at Stamford Bridge and prove every critic wrong.
But if you ask me today, I believe Arsenal would have been a better destination for Morgan Rogers if his priority was immediate competition for the Premier League and Champions League.
Maybe Chelsea will prove me wrong.
Maybe Rogers will lift major trophies at Stamford Bridge.
But for now, I have one question for Chelsea fans:
DID MORGAN ROGERS MAKE THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF HIS CAREER?
